| The Honorable Aldéa Landry is a lawyer, business woman and highly respected figure in public life. She has truly helped shape public policy in her home province of New Brunswick, within Atlantic Canada and on a national scale. In New Brunswick, Aldéa has served as deputy premier, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, and interim Minister of Fisheries. She also co-founded a successful law firm before launching her own business in 1993. Aldéa is also currently the President of Landal Incorporated, a consulting firm based in Moncton that provides comprehensive counseling services in the areas of organizational and business development and international cooperation. His research focuses on the questions of managing immigration in second-tier cities and in areas with low immigration, and the discourse and representations of cultural, religious and ethnic diversity. He also delves into populism and the phenomenon of the new modalities of governance in advanced democratic societies. He has published articles in Études ethniques du Canada Revue canadienne de science politique, Politique et Sociétés, Argument, Francophonie d’Amérique, and Lexicometrica. He has also contributed many chapters to collective works. From 2003 to 2006, he served as Director of Research at the Atlantic Metropolis Centre, and he has been one of the Centre’s directors since 2006. He also directed two films which were produced by the National Film Board of Canada: Tableaux d’un voyage imaginaire [portrait of an imaginary voyage] in 2001 with filmmaker Jean Chabot, and Au bout du fil [Hanging On] in 2006. | | | |  | Carole Marie Fournier studied organizational psychology, specialized in the field of cultural diversity. She’s currently completing a Doctor's degree in Psychology as an Atlantic Metropolis Center scholarship holder for the International Network about Immigration Research Outside Big Centers. Throughout her training, she's developed a great comprehension of cultural influence in human relations, at the personal level, as well as the organizational level. This leads her to act as part-time lecturer at the University of Moncton, Edmundston Campus, to deliver conferences and workshops and to advise various public and community organizations in the field of cultural diversity management. She’s also interested in the field of cultural diversity management in business contexts. Fascinated by international cooperation, she carried out some internships in Senegal, including one where she accompanied a group of eight high school students with an aim of developing their capacities to become young crosscultural youth “ambassadors”. She worked in the United Arab Emirates from 1994 until 2004, giving her great exposure to a wide range of nationalities and cultures. Anita has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of roles such as management, consulting, training, and lecturing. Anita has an MBA with a major in International Business. She specializes in Cross-Cultural Communication and works with organizations with a multicultural element, which are involved with global markets or partners, or include members from multiple cultures. Anita teaches courses in ‘Cross-Cultural Communications and Negotiations’ and ‘Diversity at the Workplace’ at the University of New Brunswick. She has conducted workshops on ‘Cultural Competency’ for clients such as Bell-Aliant, Mariner Partners Inc., Saint John Regional Hospital, Innovatia, ACOA, etc. As a consultant, Anita has also worked on a project dealing with immigration issues for the City of Saint John and the provincial and federal government. As a consultant, he has diversified experiences and has completed mandates in management, planning, and training for public, private, and community organizations at the provincial, national and international level.
