Diversis Participates to UOttawa's CURA Knowledge-Based Community Governance

August 24 2010, Ottawa - Diversis attends workshops on "Knowledge Mobilization" and "Engagement, Gouvernance and Economy" organized by the Community-University Research Alliance (CURA) Knowledge-based Community Governance of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa. Since 2009, Diversis collaborates to this CURA as a community partner. The experience of Diversis in regards to the development and the application of its"i-readiness for communities" tool in New Brunswick's Francophone municipalities is what attracted CURA researchers to include this practice as one of the potentially innovative practices to be studied.

These three questions guide the CURA’s approach:

  • What are the knowledge based and potentially innovative practices in the community development sector?
  • How do they contribute to the renewal of community governance?
  • How can we formalize or translate the most innovative knowledge based practices into strategies for action?

Its strategic research sectors in collaboration with the community partners are:

  • Economic and community development
  • Integration of diversity
  • Youth mobilization
  • Access to justice
